Inside the Ocracoke Preservation Society (OPS) Museum, this gift shop helps fund the society’s ongoing projects. OPS stocks items relating to the island's natural and cultural history, including a wide selection of books and music, much of it by talented local and regional authors and musicians. The gift shop also has a section just for kids, some fun souvenirs and locally made crafts. While you are browsing, ask the knowledgeable staff your questions about island life and history. Becoming a member of OPS while you are there is another way to help support this nonprofit organization.
